There are vintage photographs of the Beach Library and Fort Myers Beach, as well as photographs of local birds and native plants.

The second floor houses a collection of dolls from around the world that were obtained between the two world wars. Some dolls are made with materials no longer used and are hand-painted.

The Sand & Bloom exhibit features sand sculptures and blooming plants, and the Shell Collection features specimens found locally and around the world.

Ukrainian Eggs are displayed from February through April, and the library exhibits contemporary paintings by local artist Donald Musto.

Kid-ding Around

Preschool Storytime for toddlers through age 5 is held Wednesdays from 10:30to- 11:15 a.m. Music, art, felt storyboards, finger plays and puppets help the books come to life.

Monthly Dog Days on the second Tuesday of the month give children an opportunity to read to a dog. Upcoming dates are Nov. 14 and Dec. 12, 2017. Pre-registration is required.

Children also have free use of the ABCmouse.com educational website for ages 2-8.

Internet Access and WiFi

Internet access is available on public access workstations in the adult services area, and complimentary WiFi is available in the Library Commons on the third floor. Patrons can use the workstations to check email, print boarding passes, and surf the web.

Register at the Reference Desk to use the workstations in quarter-hour blocks, up to one hour per person per day. Additional time may be provided if no one else is waiting.
