Sip & Chill: The Best Coffee Shops near Fort Myers Beach and Fort Myers

Fort Myers Beach on Estero Island is famous for its white sand beaches and outdoor activities in pristine wildlife reserves. The area is a paradise for kayaking, paddleboarding, hiking, or simply relaxing and soaking in the delightful coastal vibes and sunny weather.

With so many things to do, you’re going to need a boost of energy throughout the day! And what’s better than good old coffee for that?

While there were some FMB coffee shops worth visiting, in 2022, Hurricane Ian had a significant impact on Fort Myers Beach, affecting several local businesses, some of which are still rebuilding their spaces and temporarily operating as “food trucks.”

Luckily, you’re also just a 30-minute drive from Fort Myers city itself, aka “The City of Palms,” where several more coffee shops provide not only high-quality coffee but also great atmospheres for you to chill or work, and get your caffeine fix in style.

In this blog, we’ve curated a list of some of the best coffee spots in Fort Myers Beach and Fort Myers to help you have a coffee-fueled day.

Prepare your taste buds for a coffee adventure!

Chocolatte’s Coffee & Roasting

Located on Fort Myers’ San Carlos Blvd, Chocolattes Coffee & Roasting takes coffee seriously, attracting lovers of the brown elixir to try their specialty drinks prepared with hand-selected beans from around the world, including South America, Africa, and Asia, and their in-house roast and blend.

Besides classic picks such as latte, cappuccino, and pour-over coffee, their menu features delicious creations like Honey Lavender Latte, Pumpkin Pie Latte, Cherry Almond Truffle, Toffee Coffee, Caramel Cinnarol, and the Gorilla Vanilla, an espresso-based drink with vanilla, banana, caramel, and steamed milk. Their Nitro Cold Brew is also a must-try.

For those who don’t like coffee, the menu includes options like matcha green tea and chai tea, refreshing smoothies, and Flying Eagle Kombuchas.

Their space boasts a relaxing coastal-rustic design that is appealing to those seeking a pleasant place to work, study, read a book, mingle, or just sit and indulge in great coffee. Since they roast beans in-house, the amazing smell of coffee makes every visit to Chocolattes Coffee & Roasting even better. What’s more, if you feel hungry, they serve heartwarming food prepared with fresh and simple ingredients — smoothie bowls, crepes, toasts, bagels, and flatbread pizzas are some great picks.

Summer Moon

This locally-owned coffee shop in Fort Myers stands out among others because of their Oak Roasted Coffee and signature sweet cream Moon Milk. Their free wifi and pet-friendly outdoor area are also appealing to patrons who need to catch up on some work accompanied by a good cup of coffee or have some quality time with their furry companions in a comfy setting.

Their wood-fired coffee roasting process over Texas oak produces a smooth, balanced coffee, as well as a delightful sweetness that’s unique to their beverages. The options are diverse, varying from classic espresso to specialty lattes, like the Summer Moon Latte and Cinnamon Latte. Their nitro cold brew and espresso milkshake are also sensational. Our number one suggestion is an espresso topped with their signature Moon Milk — this unique sweet cream perfectly complements the bold flavors of their coffee.

The best way to enhance the coffee experience is by ordering one of their bakery treats — keep an eye out for the cinnamon roll and guava cheese croissant. The open, airy, and inviting ambiance is great for working, studying, relaxing, and enjoying a cozy caffeine fix during rainy days.

Dean Street Coffee Roastery

Dean Street Coffee Roastery is a hidden gem nestled inside the lobby of the Luminary Hotel in Fort Myers. Their professional team of baristas is extremely committed to creating the perfect cup for coffee drinkers.

With a classic coffee menu, options include cappuccino, americano, latte, macchiato, cortado, and Cubanito Con Leche. If you’re a non-coffee person, order one of their fresh smoothies and pair it with a delicious pastry.

As soon as you step in, you’ll smell the amazing aroma of coffee since they roast their beans in-house. The modern-industrial vibe and comfortable seating with sofas are great for taking a rest, enjoying your coffee, and recharging your energy.

Shift Coffee Bar

Shift Coffee Bar is a true gem. This small and minimal coffee bar may pass unnoticed by some, but believe us, their brewed-to-precision coffee and specialty drinks will make you come back every time you’re in town.

Stellar picks are the Lavender Vanilla Latte, Pumpkin Spice, and the Golden Latte with a shot of espresso. Their nitro cold brew is also fantastic. Keep an eye on their seasonal menu; they always come up with interesting creations. For those who have a non-dairy diet, oat and almond milk are available. Non-coffee beverages include brewed-to-order teas, chai latte, hot chocolate, and lemonade. Everything gets better if you couple your order with their delicious pastries.

The minimal ambiance is complemented by sleek furniture, lots of greenery, and beautiful murals that give the space an artsy atmosphere. Add to that reasonable prices, adorable staff, and a great playlist, and you have a winner.

Good Ground

Conveniently located in downtown Fort Myers, Good Ground’s founders wanted to create a space that reflects their passion for coffee culture and is inspired by some of their favorite coffee spots. Using locally sourced coffee and food items, this is a go-to place in downtown for a caffeine fix.

Their menu has a great variety of specialty drinks. The Cinnamon Cappuccino, Iced Honey Brown Sugar Latte, and Coconut Vanilla Latte are all amazing! If you want to stick to the classics, their espresso is a dark roast house blend that will satisfy even the pickiest coffee lover. Another good way to go is trying their pour-over and drip coffee for a smoother experience. The perfect combo? A beverage of your choice accompanied by a cinnamon roll or a muffin.

The decor is minimalist and modern, yet extremely cozy. The atmosphere gets even better due to the excellent music they play.

European American Bakery Cafe

For over 45 years, European American Bakery Cafe has been known for serving delicious meals using only high-quality and fresh ingredients. But their space is also inviting for those who want to relax with a cup of coffee and a freshly baked pastry.

They partnered with Lavazza to offer coffee drinkers great espresso-based beverages. Beyond handcrafted classics like espresso, americano, caramel macchiato, and mocha, the specialty menu is incredibly creative. Try the Irish Cream Cold Brew and the Spiked Mocha for something unique. The latter is made of espresso shots, dark chocolate sauce, steamed milk, and O’Reilly’s Irish cream. Their cold brews are also unmissable.

Take a rest and soak in the beautiful ambiance that is a blend of a modern industrial vibe meets Parisian bistro. The smell of freshly baked pastries is tempting, so don’t think twice before ordering some delicacies. Their butter croissant and other pastries like Danish and cinnamon rolls are to die for.

Savour Coffee

Located in south Fort Myers in the Island Park Shopping Center, Savour Coffee offers great coffee combined with an unassuming yet cozy ambiance and extremely friendly service. The chef and founder has always been passionate about the food industry and wanted to create a place not only for a caffeine fix but also for savoring some delicacies.

Their signature lattes are the highlights of their menu. Try Savour Sig, an amazing combination of espresso, white chocolate, raspberry, macadamia nut, and milk. The Amareto Dark is also a top choice — espresso, vanilla, dark chocolate, and almond. If you’re not a coffee enthusiast, they also have Boba milk tea, delicious fraps, and energy drinks. The best way to enjoy your beverage is by grabbing one (or two) of their pastries. Must-tries include bagels, chocolate croissants, and the guava cheese pastry. Also, don’t leave before trying their coffee cake — coupled with one of their signature lattes it’s the perfect combo!

The bright and modern atmosphere is very welcoming for relaxing. For extra fun, visit on Saturday when they have an open mic event. Grab a handcrafted drink, relax, and have good laughs.
