America has been built from the sacrifices and dedication of our military, and the Southwest Florida Military Museum stands to honor those sacrifices. Located only 20 minutes from Fort Myers Beach, the museum houses many artifacts from wars dating all the way back to the Revolution and educates its visitors about the true meaning of honor and service.

About the America’s Veterans Foundation

The museum is presented by America’s Veterans Foundation, an organization of veterans dedicated to helping other veterans in need. The primary mission of the foundation is to provide war veterans with a “head start” in getting back into mainstream American life. Volunteers put in over 4,000 hours per month and provide counseling along with necessities like clothing, furniture, canned food, and hygienic items. Donations and proceeds collected at the museum are used to support this wonderful organization.

What You’ll Find in the Southwest Florida Military Museum

The museum is home to thousands of items that have represented or been used by our military members throughout the years. All of these artifacts, ranging from old military uniforms, magazine covers, technology, and even vehicles, have been donated or loaned by the military, government, and individuals. As you explore, you will come across actual war veterans who are either volunteering or visiting the museum. It’s a great way to learn about America’s history while discovering stories you may not have known about our military.

Museum Events

Every month, a series of events are held at the museum that are used to benefit the organization and the military community. Every Monday-Saturday morning, you can enjoy fresh coffee and donuts! Every Tuesday, the museum hosts a Korean and WWII Veterans Luncheon, and any veteran from any war is welcome to attend. A jazz band plays New Orleans Style dance music every other Wednesday, and this has grown to be one of the most popular events at the museum. For a full list of events, take a look at the museum’s calendar!
